Safety and care for pod swings
- After fitting the cushion, make sure the zip sits on the inside of the pod. If it is on the outside, turn the pod inside out. This keeps the load off the stitching.
- Hang the seat no more than 35cm above grass, sand, wood chips or a mat.
- The pod is for sitting and gentle rocking, not strong swinging. Sit in the centre with full weight when using it alone, in bare feet or soft shoes.
- The canvas is waterproof, but do not let water pool inside if it gets wet, and bring it in and store it dry at the end of the season.
- Check the fabric and stitching at the start of each season, and the hanging point and carabiners before each use.
- An adult should supervise, and check that the child can get in and out safely. This is the part that requires more balance and manoeuvring.
